Marketing-The best tool of the business..Period!

When we look at the businesss from the time of industrial revolution to this digital era there is drastic change.There is change in products,services,way to operate businesses,way to earn from the businesses,way to look at businesses and the biggest change is in “way to communicate the businesses to the people i.e marketing.” Marketing is the biggest contributor to the where businesses are today so eventually to the world today.Period.Look at the pictures of the products which were launched in early late 80’s or early 90’s and now in 2021,their packaging,their way of selling,their advertising,brand ambassadors,quality,colour combinations and many more things has changed.This is possible because of the effective marketing.

There has been 4 industrial revolutions happened till now.First one was Steam Engines,Second the electricity,oil,gases,third was telecommunications,electronics and computers and the fourth one and biggest one is the internet.Marketing also evolved with this revolutions from printing flyers and posters then advertisement on radio then in the newspapers then advertisement on TV(Popular and powerful) then on the websites then now on instagram or youtube ads.Marketing was there and will always be there as it depends on human psychology.

There is a very great definition given by marketing expert Philip Kotler “the science and art of exploring, creating, and delivering value to satisfy the needs of a target market at a profit. Marketing identifies unfulfilled needs and desires. It defines, measures and quantifies the size of the identified market and the profit potential”. So,marketing is all about the product,copmany and the customer/consumer.After the product is formed till it is consumed by the end customer,marketing department will be involved in it.The role of it doesn’t end here.There after keeping the connection and relation with the customer,taking their feedback and analyzing what is going wrong or right,suggesting the improvements these tasks are also done by marketing.

Marketing is very wide.To sum it in few words “marketing is the art and science of providing,creating,improving the value to the customer”. Now one of the booming sector of marketing is digital marketing. Traditional marketing is still there and has a greater rich of audience.But the effectiveness of the digital marketing is more.People,specially in middle age and young are using more and more advanced type of devices such as laptop,mobile phones etc than of traditional devices such a radio,TV. That aint their choice but because of the need of an hour.At this fast running world it is important to use digital devices for not being left behind or necessity.Putting simple,digital marketing is the marketing using the digital medium.Such as social media,websites etc.If you are using social media all the advertisement of the product or service is nothing but the digital marketing.

On the other hand,traditional marketing is the marketing done through traditional medium such as billboards,printed media etc. You might remember the paper cuttings of New job vacancies or a new bike launch. That was nothing but the traditional marketing.Untill the development of the internet in late 80s, the traditional marketing has more affection. Actually at that time world wasn’t digitalized that much so wasn’t digital marketing.But now though by the reach traditional marketing has a hand over digital but the effect and returns are multifold of digital marketing.The immense experience of watching a commercial on TV is reducing.The content is same but the platforms are shifting.People are watching more videos on youtube,websites and blogs than TV.So the commercials are running on digital devices.Big brands are heavily investing in the digital marketing.Every business small or big are having websites,social media hadles,advertisement and various digital platforms for marketing.This shows a coming shift in the upcoming years in the marketing.

There is an interesting concept,known as CATT.It stands for Content,Attention,Trust,Transaction.Basically it covers all the process of formation till customer consumption.Content is the desciption of your product or a service.What values your product or service could provide and what benefits it will provide to the user.Specially in today’s era,where information is available on one click it is really important to specify your content effectively and efficiently or if you don’t your customer may want to go towards the other product or the same product of different producer.Attention is trying to spread more awareness.More the awareness,more the customer would be awared and more would be the confidence in the customer to buy.So,you should be attentive enough to attract the customer.This will eventually build the trust and transaction would happen.Transaction is customer buying the product or service.

There is a very quality terms used which is ‘Integrated Digital Marketing’.As per the name suggests the approach for this marketing would be integrated,holistic.Here the marketer would use various marketing channels for the purpose such as SEO,Content Marketing,Social Media Marketing and many more.Basically the objective of this integrated marketing strategy is to create unique strategy for the marketing and try to reach customers through various channels,increasing the reach.Sometimes one channel marketing would not have the desired impact,so it would be beneficial to use integrated approach.And as per the results integrated approach is better than using single medium.Most of the brands and companies go for integrated digital marketing.

Digital Marketing is powerful and effective.It would be ruling the marketing sector in upcoming few years,specially after the pandemic as the pandemic has acted as a catalyst and made the process of digitalization very fast.I would like to tell a small experience of myself that how I used Social Media to find a solution in an internship.So,I was selected as a marketing intern in a online education courses provider.My job was to do marketing and try to sell two products which were workshops of E-commerce learning and Python Coding.But,in my knowing there was no one who would be interested in doing those workshops and I was making 0 sales.An idea came to me and I searched the social media handles of that compnay.I found the followers of those social media handles and tried to contact them and tell them about the products.Amongst many of them,3 people were interested and I made my score of sales from 0 to 3.So this is how I used social media.

Marketing is creating value for customers by making them aware for the product.Marketing is fundamental need of product to sell. Has any company succeed without marketing till date? The answer is yes, such as Zara, Rolls Royce Naturals Ice cream etc.But contradictory to these few examples there would be more companies who would have failed because they didn’t market their product.Marketing is an essential element of an organization.Specially in today’s era, if you don’t market,if you don’t aware the market about your product then you are likely to fail.Marketing serves as a bridge between the organization and a customer.If you try to build this bridge by any other method it will consume lot of energy,money.Marketing makes buying easy. When you market your product, you are spreading awareness about it, consumers would get to know the value product serves.So you are presenting your product with the details in front of the customer, that will definately help customer to buy it.Marketing has changed the sales of a company 360°.

Marketing is the very powerful tool to sell the product.If you look at big firms in the world,you will find they have very efficient and effective marketing department and management.One example of marketing and how it helps is When maggi started to market itself as a “2 min product”, it’s sales grew exponentially.
